With $30, an Android tool, & a tiny creativity the pair could generate the cellbots which method commands by telnet on PCs. The bots can move around in specified directions thanks to the built-in compass functionally on positive Android phones.
Enterprising hobbyists Tim Heath & Ryan Hickman have created cellbots — with names like Tankbot & Truckbot — that are basically robots powered by Android devices.
While actual robot activity is minimal, the focus of the project was to utilize Android phones as the brains of the robots. The pair hope to expand robot functionality & make the most of Android’s program. Wired speculates that:
“This means they could utilize every hardware & program component of an Android phone, programming the bot to keep away from obstacles, recognize faces & voices, pinpoint its location & go places.”
